How IAA buyer fees work

The buyer fee runs from $25 on a sale under $50 to $1,000 for sales from $10,000 to $14,999.99, then 7.5% of the sale price from $15,000. Winning with an internet bid adds a proxy bid fee ($40 to $140) or a live online bid fee ($50 to $160); bids under $100 have none. Every purchase pays the $105 service fee and $20 title handling.

Questions

How much are IAA fees on a $1,000 car?

With a proxy bid, $575.00 before storage and the EH&S surcharge: a $375 buyer fee, $75 proxy bid fee, $105 service fee and $20 title handling.

What is the IAA service fee?

$105 per vehicle from October 1, 2026, for handling, imaging, pull-out and loading.

What is the IAA EH&S and fuel surcharge?

A surcharge for energy, fuel, waste and fluid handling costs. IAA doesn't publish a fixed amount, so check your invoice or the branch and add it in the calculator.

Are IAA fees the same as Copart's?

Close. On October 17, 2026, IAA's non-licensed buyer fee and bid fee tables matched Copart's salvage-title tables for wire payments. The fixed fees differ: IAA charges a $105 service fee and $20 title handling; Copart charges a $95 gate fee and a $15 environmental fee.

Do I need a dealer license to buy at IAA?

Not for every vehicle. Some lots and states require a license or a broker; the listing shows who can bid. This calculator uses the non-licensed buyer fees.
